2015 Tooth Fairy 5K/10K Run & Community Health Expo – Saturday October 17, 2015
Proceeds from the Expo and Tooth Fairy 5K/10K Run will benefit the medical, counseling, legal and dental programs of the Free Clinic, including the pediatric dental program. Through the charitable efforts of over 160 volunteers, the Free Clinic delivered almost 15,000 client contacts to 4,000+ people in 2014. The event serves as the Free Clinic’s most important fundraising event of the year and its success is critical to continued services.
“The Tooth Fairy 5K/10K and 1K Kids Run have really added a lot of excitement to the event and have definitely attracted more people, especially families to the health Expo,” said Free Clinic of Simi Valley Executive Director, Fred Bauermeister. The Run was added to the Expo in 2013. The Run is intended to be whimsical and fun as participants are encouraged to dress as tooth fairies with wings, tutus, and wands.”
Registration for the Tooth Fairy 5K/10K and Kids 1K Fun Run is now open on the Free Clinic of Simi Valley’s website at www.FreeClinicSV.com/toothfairy. Leashed dogs that are registered for the race will be allowed to run with their masters. Non-runners will be encouraged to participate by sponsoring runners, by cheering their favorite runners on, and by posting to the Clinic’s social media sites.
The Expo portion of the event will promote positive health and fitness practices and activities for youth and adults and will feature dozens of vendors presenting their products and services, including: Nutrition Advice, Oral Cancer Screenings, Flu Shots, Vitamin Info, Health Insurance Info, Senior & Assisted Living Info, Bicycle Safety, CPR/First Aid Demonstrations, Tips on Healthy Cooking, Fitness Club Information, Smoking Cessation Info, Weight Loss Info, Massage Therapy, and Kids Activities. The Expo will be free of charge.
