The Free Clinic of Simi Valley exists to provide services to individuals and families in need through the generosity of over 160 volunteer professionals. Approximately 34 physicians, 27 dentists, 12 lawyers, 18 therapists, 6 nurses and an equal number of medical and dental assistants, 16 pharmacists, and 10 phlebotomists serve at the Clinic. A total of 5 employees manage the 160 volunteers at the Clinic, and these employees receive a modest stipend with no benefits. The Free Clinic has an operational budget of just under $400,000 per year which includes the aforementioned staff, rent, insurance, utilities, internet, phones, medical and dental supplies - everything from tissue paper to exam gloves, from sterilization supplies to medications. The Free Clinic is not funded by any third parties (public/private insurance or hospitals), but rather a combination of partners, such as service clubs, churches, private foundations, local businesses and individuals. Many years ago, the Board of Directors of the Free Clinic agreed that we should offer to our patients the opportunity to financially support the care/services they receive. The operational cost for each service offered is approximately $38. Beginning in 2020, for those patients interested in financially supporting the services they receive, the Board has determined a suggested donation of $40 per visit. As a reminder, there is never a charge for any service provided by a volunteer professional at the Free Clinic of Simi Valley. All donations are voluntary. Can I be seen if I have insurance?
