1971 as a non-profit, volunteer-based community service organization.
The mission of the Free Clinic of Simi Valley is to provide medical care, counseling, dental and legal assistance to individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay.
This includes those of all ages, ethnicities, religions and socioeconomic backgrounds, who are unable to use traditional sources within the community.

Community HEALTH and FITNESS Expo
The Community Health and Fitness Expo raises funds for the Free Clinic while increasing awareness of its work through a free community event to promote healthy lifestyles.

In late 2011, the Clinic launched a "group" diabetes treatment/management medical service. Patients diagnosed with diabetes were treated with a nutritious dinner and received information about a healthy diet. The ongoing program will educate patients about diabetes and offer testing and private consultation with a physician.During the first session (shown at left) there were three physicians on hand, including Aimee Ostick, M.D., of Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills, the Clinic's new supervising physician.For the program the Clinic uses the waiting room as the "classroom" because nowhere else inside the facility is suitable to host all the visitors. The program must utilize the waiting room at the Free Clinic of Simi Valley for lack of other adequate space at the Tapo Street facility, as patients diagnosed with diabetes are taking advantage of the program and are being proactive toward improving their health.
